Aguilar's Biography:   Aguilar is a 57 year young painter and sculptor. Taino (From the Caribbean) and part Cherokee. He has traveled around the world learning, mentoring and displaying his collection.  Many of his paintings now hang in the homes of many prominent people.  Aguilar has done everything from comic books to murals, awards, caricatures, and sculptures, book covers, movies, and production sketches.  But  his love and spirit are always with his culture. He has also started to produce the Orisha's. When the Africans were brought on to the Caribbean Islands, the three cultures that merged, became a new culture which now had many of the best elements of the Spanish, African and Caribbean cultures.  Music, religion, and spirit.  Aguilar also, loves the myth's and legends of other cultures because of the magic and spirit within them.  Aguilar lives in New York and is married to Reina Miranda, who also an artist.


Artist Statement: A lot of my work represents the spiritual side of the Taino people and Native Americans. Stories told and some untold.   I continually try to come from a fresh and simpler point of view.  To date the people who collect my work are always waiting for the next painting and asking for more.


Fast becoming world reknowned Aguilar's work blends nature with spirituality. Part Puerto Rican (Taino) and Cherokee, Aguilar's art identifies with his indigenous roots.  His works feature beautiful dreamy spiritual scenes of nature blended with references to his Taino, Spanish and Cherokee heritages.  Aguilar's artworks were recently on display from May to September of 2007, at  the United Nations Gallery here in New York City, along with the work of Reina Miranda (Aguilar's wife) and will be featured in their traveling gallery throughout the world, in many countries including Paris France.   The artist's artwork will also be featured agaom in the United Nations Gallery this year 2008
